KMA Law School Dean Voilodymyr Venher was invited to speak at an event at The Harriman Institute, Columbia University in New York, focused on the topic of “Kidnapped Childhood: Russia’s War on Ukraine’s Children”, that brought together the founder of Save Ukraine, Mykola Kuleba, filmmaker Tetiana Khodakivska, and artist Alevtina Kakhidze, who explored different aspects of Russian war crimes against the children.
This event featured an art exhibit of original artworks created by Ukrainian contemporary artists in collaboration with children, depicting their experiences in what is commonly referred to as Russian re-education camps. These children have been rescued by Save Ukraine.
The artworks as part of a mixed-media documentation about propaganda nad manipulation of information, trauma documentation mental torment, isolation, and other forms of torment and threats to children in Russian occupied territories. A systematized archive will be available for partner reaseach, as part of the Ukraine War Archive.
