Congratulations to the graduating class of 2023!
Kyiv-Mohyla Academy hosted the annual commencement ceremonies on June 28-29, Ukrainian Constitution Day. There were 773 bachelor's and 308 master's degrees awarded. It is the 29th graduation ceremony since the university’s revival after Ukraine’s Independence. This year’s graduation events felt historical because the convocation took place during the war when Kyiv was subjected to repeated missile strikes. It underlined the feeling of responsibility and gratitude when others are fighting for the future of all Ukrainians and their freedom.
“Congratulations to the students of the graduating class at Kyiv-Mohyla University! I know that I'm speaking to you at a time of great difficulty. When you began your school career, you didn't imagine that you would finish your university education at the time of a major war… You, students, have proven how much perseverance you have and all those are qualities that are going to stand you in good stead as the future leaders of your country”, Anne Applebaum, historian, author, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Honorary Doctor of KMA.
See Serhiy Kvit, Anne Applebaum, Oleksandr Kostiuk and Mykhailo Fedorov sending greetings to the graduates:
“Dear graduates, congratulations on graduating from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy! Today is an important conclusion to a part of your life that you will never forget. You found lifelong friends here and became members of the large community of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Ukraine is a world changer now, and you are a part of this process as you build your country. You can change the world. May all of you realize all your plans and careers successfully, no matter what. Come back to visit your university. We will always be glad to see you! Best wishes to you and your families.”, Dr. Serhiy Kvit, President of KMA.
