On August 22, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy hosted extraordinary guests. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova, and Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Yulia Kovaliv, met with faculty and students. Both ambassadors Oksana Markarova and Yulia Kovaliv are KMA alumni. Mariia Berlinska, also a KMA alumna, and the so-called “Ukrainian Mother of Drones”,  also attended the event.

The event was hosted by Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Association of the KMA Alumni. The guests engaged in a presentation that included a discussion of support for Ukraine from the western countries.

Maksym Yakovlyev, Head of the KMA International Relations Department served as the moderator of the discussion. The ambassadors emphasized the need for strategic planning and sustainable communication with the people of Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The distinguished guests highlighted that Kyiv-Mohyla Academy has played an important role since 1991 in the development of an independent democracy, providing excellence in education and personal development to prepare leaders for the Ukrainian nation.  They emphasized the sacrifice of many from the Kyiv-Mohyla family in the defensive war against russia.

We are grateful to our diplomats for their tireless work and look forward to their next visit to KMA.
