The fundraising event in Kyiv was a great success. It raised $150,000 USD. It gathered over 250 people, outstanding individuals all.
The audience was filled with young leaders of Ukraine – in government, business, academia, and civil society. A very large number of them were proud graduates of KMA.
Truly, the university has produced leaders for the country. It will be interesting in the next five years, who will lead the country into the future. Many of them will be in the front lines, as they are already – Acting Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova who recently negotiated the IMF deal, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Rostyslav Pavlenko who recently negotiated the Tomos decision on the autonomy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Oksana Syroyid, Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ostap Semerak, Minister of Ecology of Ukraine, Denys Krasnikov, Vice-President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Dmytro Tarabakin, Member of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine, Gennadiy Zubko, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine.
They are all KMA graduates and government officials and representatives of influential national bodies. And so many others who are researchers, journalists, and innovators, such as Evhen Fedchenko, director of the School of Journalism and initiator of the project Stop Fake, or Oleksandr Starodubtsev, originator of the ProZorro program for national procurement.
Truly, the output of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” is impressive in its drive for innovation, reforms and leadership.
