Oksana Markarova assumed her duties as Acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine on June 8. The administration, faculty, students, and family of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy known as “Mohyliantsi” salute on her accomplishments.
Oksana Markarova obtained her first master degree in environemtnal science from Kyiv Mohyla Academy. She entered Indiana University (Bloomington/USA) and graduated with MPA degree in international public finance and trade while also attaining academic excellency and best international students awards.
During her study in 1996-1998 Oksana worked for International Fundation of Election Systems and for Chemonics Intl. Consulting company (Ukrainian agrarian commodity exchange project).
From 1998 through 1999 and from 2001 through 2003 Oksana worked as Economic Policy Advisor and External and corporate relations manager for Western NIS Enterprise Fund, $150 million private equity fund (noe managerd by Horizon Capital), and in 2000 interned in the World Bank headqurters in financial and banking group in ECA region.
Until her appointment she lead ITT Investment group as a President and CEO of the ITT-Invest, one of the lading Ukrainin investment houses.
Oksana Markarova is a member Kyiv Mohyla Academy Advisory Board, member of the Ukrainian Catholic University cirle of friends and member of the international Young Presidents Organization. She is certified in securities trading, asset management and private pention fund board member.
In 2015 Oksana Markarova started a career in public sector. She served as Deputy Minister of Finance – Chief of Staff in March 2015 – april 2016. On April 29 2016 she was appointed First Deputy Minister of Finance and on August 8 she was also apointed Government commissioner on investments. As a Commissioner she has created UkraineInvest, selected the Director and professional team and has already started many concrete initiatives to support current investors and attract new investments into Ukraine. On June 8, 2018 she was appointed Acting Minister of Finance.
