Maria Berlinska is a Kyiv Mohyla Academy graduate and has a master’s degree in history. She is a now a volunteer with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Berlinska was collecting money for thermal scopes when she realized that drones could save lives of hundreds of soldiers. She founded the Ukrainian Center for Drone Intelligence which provides the Ukrainian Army with drones and teaches how to operate them.
This initiative of Mariya Berlinska has turned out to be one of the most enduring, continuing to systematically teach soldiers and provide them with UAVs.
“We are losing this country. The war has been going on for three years. There are still “Cargos 200″ [fallen soldiers - ed.]. We don’t even have Phantoms – the Chinese drones that cost $1,000!” She explains.
The Center received 140 thousand hryvnias (about $5,500) in financial aid since Berlinska began her advocacy campaign.
